FAQ

What happened to your FCP Plug-ins?

Our first free and paid plug-ins were released in 2003 for the rapidly ascending Final Cut Pro and became very popular within the community. When Final Cut Pro X arrived on the scene in June 2011, we gradually released totally rewritten versions of these plug-ins using FxPlug2. Eight years later the company’s focus had shifted and in July 2019 we made all of these plug-ins available for free.

The introduction of FCP 10.6.6 in May 2023 formally ended support for the FxPlug2 framework which meant that all of our plug-ins no longer worked. There are no plans to rewrite these plug-ins using the latest technology so they have now been retired.

The good news is that our six free transitions for Final Cut Pro continue to be compatible with the latest versions.

How do I uninstall a plug-in?

Plug-ins have two components: The FxPlug which does all the work and the Motion Template which provides a bridge between the FxPlug and Final Cut Pro.

FxPlugs (e.g. DH_BoxX.fxplug folder) are located at
Macintosh HD/Library/Plug-Ins/FxPlug

Motion templates (e.g. DH_BoxX folder) are located at:
Home/Movies/Motion Templates/Effects/Digital Heaven
or
Home/Movies/Motion Templates/Generators/Digital Heaven

Plug-ins can be uninstalled by moving both of their folders to the trash.
