Why do exported XML files open in Apple Color?

This issue only occurs when running on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. It is due to OS-level changes that Apple made to the way that files with extensions are handled.

To make XML files open in Final Cut Pro:

1. Select the XML file
2. Choose File > Get Info
3. Scroll down to the "Open With" section and select "Final Cut Pro" rather than "Color"
4. Click the "Change All" button to have this happen automatically with other XML files.
