Frequently Asked Questions
What is the current version of AutoMotion?Version 1.5.2 which was released on 15th June 2007. This fixed a bug causing AutoMotion to crash when creating a new project. See user manual for full list of fixes and improvements.
Why does AutoMotion not have a File>Save menu?
In order to keep the export status accurately updated, AutoMotion automatically saves the project after every change made. Therefore there's no need for a conventional manual save command.
What happens if my template contains a text object with multiple styles
(e.g. font, text size etc)?
AutoMotion will always use the first text style found in a text object and ignore any subsequent styles.
How do I create multi-line text objects?
In Motion, the text object's Layout Method should be set to "Paragraph":

Then resize the bottom of the text object so multiple lines will be visible:

When the text is replaced in AutoMotion, it will automatically wrap to the width of the paragraph text object. You can also force a new line by entering a backslash "\" character in the text field.
e.g. "First line here\and second line here" becomes
First line here
and second line here
When I reconnect Motion clips in Final Cut Pro, it shows me the following error message. What does this mean?
This error message will be displayed if a version has been assigned a new template which has a different duration to the original template used.
For example, if the original template was 5 seconds long and the new template is only 3 seconds long then the Motion clip will be reduced to 3 seconds duration in the sequence but will still start on the same frame. Simply click the Continue button and Final Cut Pro will adjust the duration of the Motion clip in the sequence automatically.
